OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM
The BSc. Mathematics programme was accredited for the first time in October 2020, when the University was still a University College under the mentorship of University of Mines and Technology (UMaT). The programme was developed by the Mathematics Department to provide students with a strong foundation in the concepts on calculus, algebra, numerical methods, probability, statistics, and many other useful concepts of mathematics including related applications towards positioning students in solving technological, industrial and everyday problems. The programme is also aimed at providing students with core mathematical skills that will equip them for a variety of careers and strong foundation for further studies. The programme is currently run by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.

AIMS
• To attract and admit mathematically able candidates and to provide technology oriented, and industry-relevant undergraduate programmes with courses that range from basic to advanced and to equip students with their scholarly and research interests;
• To equip undergraduates from this programme and give them academic support that will help develop their capabilities with current technological trends to function adequately in this data driven society. Will also provide an environment where independent study and interaction with faculty and peers are encouraged. -
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
• Equip students with deep understanding of core mathematical concepts including calculus, algebra, statistics, and discrete mathematics;
• Foster analytical thinking and rigorous problem-solving skills applicable to real-world and theoretical contexts.
• Expose students to modern mathematical software tools (e.g., MATLAB, Mathematica, R) to support symbolic and numerical computation;
• Integrate mathematical modeling and simulation techniques in solving ICT-related and industrial problems;
• Introduce students to data science, machine learning, and optimization techniques relevant to current technological and business challenges;
• Provide internship, project-based learning, and entrepreneurship opportunities to prepare students for the job market and academia; -
